The name of the this Gin is super catchy, but so is the story about their distillation: this London Dry Gin is distilled to the sound of a specific playlist that plays in loop during its distillation. The team creates the list or gets a DJ to curate something special for certain batches. So as hip as that is, the story about what’s inside the bottle is just as good/
The gin is made in small batches and the distillation process itself is slow and gentle, which expresses a softness on the palate even with that high alcohol abv. ( 40%). There are notes of juniper berries, coriander, pine trees, orange peel and lime zest with an excellent streak of salinity on the finish. The colour of the bottle is perfectly suited to the occasional as well, right?!

Distillerie Puyjalon Betchwan
SAQ: 14082490 $44.75
OK guys – this next gin is pretty damn special. Despite the fact that it tastes amazing – it’s coming from Havre Saint Pierre in the Côte Nord region of Quebec, very close to where I grew up. It’s a beautiful part of the world and I am so proud that I get to boast about this lovely gin through my platform.
The name of the gin is quite cool, and its named after a strait ‘with a strong current in both directions’, an Indigenous translation. The passionate owner and creator is Mario Noël, and his product has been at the SAQ for about a year now.
This gin, which is very classic in tastes of juniper at its core, citrus peel, star anise and plenty of piney notes. It has substance with clean flavours, and where the finish is not only smooth, but offers a great saline bite. Amazing!
