Cascina Corte Langhe Nebbiolo 2016

Casina Corte is a very small organic winery in the Langhe region of Italy is owned by   Sandro Barosi and Amalia Battaglia; an ambitious partnership where in 2001, they renovated a neglected vineyard and farmhouse and started making beautiful, organic wines in the Langhe region of Italy.

Grapes are all estate grown, hand harvested and fermented on natural yeasts.

This particular wine is 100% Nebbiolo, where the wine was aged in amphore,  and made without fining or filtering.

Beautiful notes of red cherries, violet, bits of earth and warm spice.  The fruit is light yet very intense and generous.  Fresh tannins give grip, brightness and texture, and still very elegant.  The high acidity supports the almost sweet-like fruit, making the wine incredibly juicy and easy to drink.  There was a nice mineral streak leading to the long and expressive finish. Absolutely gorgeous wine, highly recommend!

*This wine was tasted at an equally delicious meal at Restaurant Monarque in Old Montreal; Private import only at Primavin.
