Tantalus Juveniles Chardonnay 2017

Tantalus Juveniles Chardonnay 2017

SAQ: 13601382 $28.45

With the oldest known vineyard in British Columbia, Tantalus has been in operation since 2004 and focuses their craft around only a few grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay.  Their authentic, pristine, and terroir driven wines are made in a sustainable way in South East Kelowna.

The grapes for this particular wine was hand harvested then vinified in small lots with natural yeasts.  The wine was then aged with a combination of both stainless steel tanks and neutral oak, keeping the clean and bright expression of fruit.

This is a Chardonnay that you could happily drink now, but your patience will be rewarded if you keep it aside, and allow it to tame down a bit and gain some complexity. The wine has very bright, clean flavours that cut right through to citrus along with a zingy minerality and super fresh acidity.  Mid way through the palate, hints of pear and apple come through with a slightly plump mouthfeel, which I LOVE in a wine. All the freshness you could ask for yet with a touch of softness to keep it balanced.  The finish leaves notes of lemon, almonds and a beautiful mouth watering salinity.  J’adore!
